Program Officer - jakarta

Mercy Corps Indonesia Open Vacancies

Dear All,
Please find below “Open Position” in Mercy Corps Indonesia.
We are trying to find the best possible candidates to make the Mercy Corps team stronger.

Program Summary: Kedai Balitaku (KEBAL)
The Kedai Balitaku Program is an innovative community-based urban nutrition project which aims to address both short-term vulnerability and long-term poverty and malnutrition by increasing the availability of convenient, low-cost, high-quality food for children under five, and at the same time offering a new avenue of economic opportunity. While a myriad of convenient food choices exist for adults, there is a dearth of options for children under five, a time of special nutritional needs. Mercy Corps proposes to facilitate the evolution of a new niche micro-market business in the community called ‘Kedai Balitaku’ (Healthy Street Foods for Children Under Five) targeted at both providing cheap, nutritious meals for children while at the same time providing much-needed additional income to entrepreneurial women and their families. The project will pilot ‘healthy baby food kaki lima’ in five communities in Jakarta aimed at improving the
nutritional intake of at least 1,000 children under five and improving the lives of five food vendor groups. Results of the pilot will be used to create a micro enterprise/franchis e program that will be expanded throughout Jakarta and to other urban cities in Indonesia.
